Yappit is built around a simple idea: talking to a stranger should be interesting, not dangerous. These guidelines exist to protect that idea. They are not a list of rules written by lawyers for lawyers. They are a clear explanation of what kind of community we're building, what behavior is welcome, and what will get you removed.
Every person you match with on Yappit — whether on Video Yap, Chat Yap, or Voice Yap — is a real human being who chose to be here for the same reason you did. These guidelines ask you to treat them accordingly. This is a safe anonymous chat platform, and keeping it that way is everyone's responsibility.

Do
- Be yourself. The best conversations happen when people are genuine.
- Remember the other person is real. They might be nervous. Give them patience.
- Use the Skip button freely. It exists for a reason. No explanation needed.
- Report genuine violations. You're not being dramatic — you're helping.
- Try different modes. Not comfortable on camera? Try Voice Yap or Chat Yap.
Do Not
- Show or share explicit content. Nudity, sexual content, or graphic material of any kind.
- Harass, threaten, or use hate speech. Directed abuse based on someone's identity or appearance.
- Pressure someone for personal contact info. If they want to share, they will.
- Attempt to identify anonymous users. No screenshotting or trying to find someone's identity.
- Use Yappit if you are under 18. This platform requires age confirmation.
What Happens When Guidelines Are Broken
Yappit enforces these guidelines through two systems working together: automated detection and user reports.
The automated moderation system catches violations in real time — explicit video content is flagged by AI running in your browser, and harmful text is filtered through two detection layers before delivery. This handles the majority of violations without anyone needing to file a report.
User reports handle everything automation misses. When you report someone, it triggers a review that can result in the same consequences as an automated detection.
The outcome follows a clear path: a first violation results in a warning. A second violation results in a temporary suspension from the platform. A third violation results in a permanent ban. Because Yappit uses verified Google accounts, banned users cannot simply create a new throwaway account — the ban is tied to their verified identity.
Appeals
Automated moderation systems are not perfect. If you believe you were flagged or suspended incorrectly, you can submit an appeal through the report page. Appeals are reviewed manually, and we reverse incorrect actions. That said, appeals are not a loophole — if a review confirms the violation, the original decision holds.
Why These Guidelines Exist
These rules are not about control. They exist because unmoderated random chat platforms consistently fail.
