Terms of Service

Welcome to Yappit ("Yappit", "we", "us", "our"), accessible at yappit.online. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Yappit website, applications, and services, including Video Yap, Chat Yap, and Voice Yap (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility — 18+ Only

      You must be at least 18 years old to use Yappit. The Service connects you with strangers in real time over video, voice, and text. It is not intended for, and may not be used by, anyone under the age of 18. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will terminate their account.
    

2. Description of the Service

Yappit randomly matches you with other users for anonymous, real-time conversations. Depending on the mode you choose, conversations take place over live video (Video Yap), voice (Voice Yap), or text (Chat Yap). Video and voice calls are transmitted peer-to-peer between participants where technically possible; our servers coordinate matchmaking and connection setup but do not record your calls. Text messages are relayed in real time and are not stored on our servers.

Matches are random within the parameters of your subscription tier. We do not verify the identity, age, background, or intentions of other users, and we make no guarantees about who you will be matched with.

3. Your Account

You sign in to Yappit using your Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the device and browser you use to access the Service, and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate profile information (including gender and country) and keep it up to date. You may not create an account on behalf of another person, share your account, or use another person's account.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Yappit offers a Free tier and paid subscription tiers (currently "Pro" and "Elite") with additional features such as preference-based matching. Features and pricing are described on our pricing page and may change over time.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's terms and authorize recurring charges until you cancel.
Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period. You can cancel at any time through the billing portal in Settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Except where required by applicable law, payments are non-refundable, including for partially used billing periods.

5. Rules of Conduct

Yappit exists so people can meet and talk safely. When using the Service, you agree that you will not:

Harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, demean, or abuse any other user, including through hate speech or discriminatory remarks based on gender, religion, caste, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality;
Display, broadcast, or transmit nudity, sexual content, or sexually explicit conduct, or solicit sexual content from any user;
Engage in, promote, or depict violence, self-harm, or illegal activity;
Record, screenshot, capture, or redistribute another user's video, voice, image, or messages without their explicit consent;
Attempt to identify, locate, dox, or expose the identity of any user;
Use the Service if you are under 18, or engage in any conduct involving minors;
Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity, age, or affiliation;
Send spam, advertisements, scams, phishing attempts, or links to malicious content;
Use bots, scripts, automation, or modified clients, or attempt to bypass our moderation systems, rate limits, or access controls;
Probe, scan, disrupt, overload, or otherwise interfere with the Service or its infrastructure.

6. Moderation and Enforcement

We use automated tools (including on-device text and image screening) and user reports to help detect content that violates these Terms. No moderation system is perfect, and we do not pre-screen all content or conversations. We may, at our discretion and without prior notice: issue warnings; end calls or chats; temporarily restrict matching; suspend or permanently terminate accounts; and, where we believe it is required or appropriate, report conduct to law enforcement.

Automated moderation runs on your own device where possible. Frames analyzed for content safety during video calls are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to our servers.

7. Interacting with Strangers — Assumption of Risk

      You understand that Yappit connects you with strangers whose identity, age, and intentions we have not verified. You interact with other users at your own risk. Never share personal information (full name, address, phone number, financial details, passwords, or identifying photos) with people you meet on the Service. We are not responsible for the conduct of any user, whether on or off the Service.
    

8. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it. By using the Service, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, branding, code, and content (excluding content created by users during conversations), is owned by Yappit and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that matches will meet your expectations.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Yappit and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service, including any interaction with, or conduct of, any other user. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim or INR 1,000.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Yappit and its operators from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content or conduct, or your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.

13. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, pose a risk to other users, or where required by law. You may stop using the Service at any time; to request account deletion, contact support@yappit.online. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 9–12 and 14) will survive.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence, the courts of India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and may provide additional notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
